On September 27, Justices Brij Raj Singh and Sangeeta Chandra noted in their order that Mishra raised his voice after the Court refused to grant an interim order in his favor. The senior advocate also made remarks that questioned the impartiality of the Bench, prompting the Court to refer the matter to the Chief Justice for the initiation of contempt proceedings. The Bench observed that Mishra's conduct was scandalous and could degrade the dignity of the court. The incident occurred during a petition challenging the awarding of a tender by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. Despite the Court's directive, the corporation had not submitted crucial records, which were expected to be reviewed on September 30. When the Court declined, stating it would issue an order after examining the records, Mishra reacted aggressively, demanding that the case be decided immediately. He further accused the Bench of bias and stated dismissively that the Court could issue any ruling it wished. The Bench, taking a serious view of his conduct, referred the case to the Chief Justice for possible contempt action, noting that such behavior, especially from a Senior Advocate, set a poor example for younger lawyers. Mishra was representing the petitioner, alongside Advocates Sunil Kumar Chaudhary and Prafulla Tiwari. Standing Counsel Sankalp Dewari appeared for the State, with Senior Advocate JN Mathur and Advocates BK Singh and Namit Sharma representing the other respondents.
