On Monday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to former Union Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons, Tejaswi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, in connection with the land-for-jobs case. The Court allowed bail on the condition that each of them submit a bail bond worth ₹1 lakh. The matter is now set for further hearing on October 25.

The case referred to is officially known as the Land-for-Jobs scam. It involves allegations against Lalu Prasad Yadav, his sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav, and other family members. The charges stem from claims that during Lalu Prasad Yadav's tenure as the Union Railway Minister (2004-2009), land was illicitly acquired from job seekers in exchange for employment in the Indian Railways.

This follows the Court’s earlier directive, which required all three to appear before it on October 7. The case, led by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), centers around allegations that the appointments in question were made in violation of the hiring rules and procedures of the Indian Railways. According to the CBI, the jobs were provided in exchange for land and did not adhere to the Railways' established recruitment standards, raising concerns about procedural irregularities and favoritism.
